Eunice & Phil - Oxwich Bay Hotel
OXWICH BAY HOTEL WEDDING
Whenever I speak to people about their weddings I always say, Book your venue, book your photographer the rest will slot into place. Normally couples will book 12 or 18 months in advance. Not this time!
On the 19th January, I shoot the beautiful wedding of Eunice & Phil at the Oxwich Bay Hotel. This was not from any booking I received 12 or 18 months before but just two weeks before the wedding.
I like to meet up with couples before the day, get to know a bit about them and find out more about the day. So this was a day where I was turning up blind. But this can sometimes work to an advantage and this was one of those times.
Oxwich Bay Hotel is situated on the Gower Peninsula right on the beach. Its location and views are just stunning and I can see why this is so popular as a wedding venue. Palm trees, amazing views and several miles of sandy beaches along the coastline.
After meeting Phil, capturing the arrival of the guests and now awaiting the start of the ceremony, I went outside to meet Eunice for the first time. Wow, she looked amazing and it and i'm sure everyone else who was there thought the same when the saw her walk into the ceremony room for the first time.
Being a January wedding, the weather was not in our favour. It was very cold, it had been raining slightly and the chances of going down to the beach for some photos later was not looking promising. However, Eunice braved the elements and was willing to go down for some photos not to miss out on the opportunity for some beach shots. Your wedding day goes so quick and you have to grab every moment with both hands and go with it. So glad we did as we were able to get some great shots before heading up to the marquee for a well deserved warm up.
Both Eunice and Phil were fantastic to work with and anything I asked was never to much bother for them and this allowed me to do a few more creative evening shots with them. This was a brilliant day for an awesome couple and I am so privileged to have been part of it.
Congratulations both.
