Documentary B&W Wedding Photography
“DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY”
You may have heard the saying and know what it means, or maybe you have not!
Darren Thomas is a South Wales Documentary Wedding Photographer. Most may say, REALLY !! but I have always seen these big creative images that he creates and yes you would be right in thinking and knowing this. So why would he call himself a Documentary Wedding Photographer?
Darren has for some time produced bright colourful wedding images and still does. Nothing has changed. However, there is another side to Darren work.
“So your wedding images are bright and colourful, why is this?”
“Yes my images are colourful and the reason for this is because I see weddings as a day of joy,
happiness and fun colourful images portray this”
“Okay then why are some of your images in black and white”
“ I have always loved black and white images, there is something about them I just love but can't put my finger on the reason why. Maybe its the emotion and when an image is black and white you need to read into what the image portrays at that moment. The one thing I do know is that they always seem powerful.”
“Do you always do black and white images at every wedding”
“It really depends on the day, what I see and if that particular moment works best in black and white. As soon as I see a moment I instantly know that it will be in black and white”
“Why Documentary Wedding Photographer?”
The majority of the day is capturing moments as they happen, from the bridal prep, right through to the end of the night. South Wales Wedding Photography to Darren is all about capturing the day as it unfolds. Not being in your face, taking that step back and allowing everyone to enjoy themselves.
